Hospitality Short Courses
Worklinks will be running a range of hospitality short courses in 2012.
Our friendly and qualified trainers are available to run these courses anywhere throughout South East Queensland.
Alternatively you may wish to enrol in a course being run at our Ipswich Community Cafe at Raceview.
Basic espresso making skills – $88

SITXOHS002A - Follow workplace hygiene
The skills learned during this training will enable the participant to attain basic espresso making skills and terminology. This can be for use at home or office and may assist in gaining employment in a café, coffee cart or similar hospitality environment.
- One day course (plus an extra day for assessment if required)
- Small numbers - 6 at a time
- Statement of attainment for two units
- Nationally recognised
- Credit towards Certificate II in Hospitality

Barista skills - $198

- SIRXCCS001A - Apply point-of-sale handling procedures
Following on from the initial Basic espresso making skills, these units complete the skill set required for a competent Barista. Designed for those working in the industry to build on skill and expertise.
You will be taught hygienic and safe work practices related to coffee making, storage, products and equipment. Customer service and communication skills and work practices for the management of large coffee orders and diagnosis of faults or problems in coffee.
- Three day course plus time to complete assessment items
- Small numbers - 6 at a time

Food Safety Supervisor Course - $245

SITXFSA001A - Implement Food Safety Procedures
Meet Queensland’s Health requirements for a Food Safety Supervisor. The Food Act 2006 requires that you have a qualified Food Safety Supervisor if you prepare or handle food on your premises, and that person needs to have a supervisory role. To ensure you comply with these requirements, enrol in the Food Safety Supervisor Course.
The FSS Course includes:
- An introduction to Food Safety
- Food contamination, hazards and prevention
- Personal Hygiene and responsibilities for food handlers
- Safe food handling procedures
- Food safety programs
- Two day course
