  • Monday-Friday, 5 day commitment

  • 10 weeks (excluding school holidays)

  • Unpaid work experience included

  • Hours: 8.45 am - 3.00 pm

This program has been designed to assist Ipswich residents and those in the surrounding areas who are looking to re-enter the workforce within the Hospitality sector.

Offering a ten week commitment for all stakeholders, participants enter into a work experience arrangement with a Worklinks-approved employer for two days per week and attend training for the remaining three days per week.  Training consists of accredited units from the Tourism, Hospitality and Events training package as well as job search activities.

The course is suitable for anyone preparing to, or having worked in, the hospitality sector and requiring skills refresher.

It covers a broad range of food service knowledge and skills, including:

  • Full Barista qualification
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • Point of sale processes
  • Planning and preparing to work safely as a food safety supervisor

  • SITHFAB016A  Plan and monitor espresso coffee service

  • SITHFAB009A  Responsible service of alcohol
  • SITXFSA001A  Implement food safety procedures
