Officially opened on Friday November 27 by Mr. Shayne Neumann MP Federal Labor Member for Blair. Worklinks Inc. is proud to be able to offer the Worklinks Community Cafés as an important new initiative to assist the community.

The purpose of these Cafés is to assist unemployed with their transition to work by way of work experience and training. Participants will also be assisted to find employment.

The Cafes are positioned well in the Ipswich area with one at Raceview [Southside] Raceview Shopping Centre on Raceview Street and the other at Brassall [Northside] in the shopping strip opposite the old Brassall Post Office on Pine Mountain Road. The Worklinks Community Cafes initiative is a Federally Funded Project under the Australian Government Jobs Fund - Get Communities Working.

The Cafés will provide participants with the opportunity to gain nationally recognised Statements of Attainment and/or Certificates in Hospitality and Retail. Participants will also be assisted to obtain work experience in a wide range of industries, traineeships/apprenticeships and employment.

The Cafés are also a job search facility for participants in the program - at no cost using the computers for job searching and resume building etc.

Each Café is open to the public offering espresso coffee and light snacks for sale. You can dine in or takeaway. The Cafés incorporate an Ipswich Hospice Bookshop with a range of secondhand books for sale.
